Annual Executive Recognition Breakfast
The Hawkeye Chapter hosted its Annual Executive Recognition Breakfast Wednesday, October 16, at the West Des Moines Marriott.
Our speaker was Chief Judy Bradshaw of the Des Moines Police Department Forty guests registered for the event. Mary Ann Moore, Committee Chair, welcomed the guests and then breakfast was served. After breakfast, Patti Hawxby made her opening remarks and introduced our speaker.
Chief Bradshaw began by recognizing her indispensible administrative assistant, Anna Kingery. That was followed by the Chief’s recalling her start as a teenager in law enforcement. She was the dispatcher for one lone patrol car in Ankeny. She eventually enrolled in the police academy and climbed through the ranks of the police department. A graduate of the FBI National Academy, Chief Bradshaw also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Drake University. She was considered a pioneer as the first woman lieutenant, captain, major, and now chief of police. She sprinkled her speech with humor and kept our guests engaged. She wrapped up with a Q&A session.
That was followed by door prize drawings and closing remarks from Mary Ann Moore. It was a successful event and an appropriate way to recognize our Executives for Boss’ Day!
Thank you to all who attended this year’s Annual Recognition Breakfast.
